TaxCare

Your details, from the portal. Not retyped.

After you prove your PAN with the one-time password the Income Tax portal sends you, TaxCare fetches your details and tax documents from the portal itself.

In short

Your details and tax documents come from the Income Tax portal, so you do not retype them.

What it does for you

  • Proof that the PAN is yours

A PAN is added only after the portal's own OTP check passes, so nobody can attach a PAN they cannot prove.

  • Fetched details stay locked

What the portal returns cannot be edited by mistake. If the portal leaves a name or date of birth blank, you fill in only that blank.

  • Your portal password is stored encrypted

The portal password set during the check is kept encrypted, never in plain text.

  • Removing a PAN is reversible

A removed profile is not lost. Register the same PAN again and it comes back as it was.

How it works

  1. Add your PANEnter your PAN. TaxCare checks it against what is already on your account first.
  2. Verify with the portal's OTPEnter the one-time password the Income Tax portal sends to complete the check.
  3. Details and documents arriveYour profile fills in from the portal, and your tax documents become available in the Tax Center.

Questions people ask

Can I add someone else's PAN?

Only after you have added your own, and only family members who can pass the portal's OTP check for their PAN.

What if the PAN already belongs to another TaxCare account?

A PAN has exactly one owner at a time. Passing the portal check moves it to you, and the previous holder is alerted.

Do I need to type my income details?

What the portal provides is fetched for you. You add only what is missing or specific to you.
