Questions, answered

Can I file without Form 16?

Yes. Your salary and the tax deducted are in your AIS and Form 26AS or Form 168, which TaxCare fetches. Form 16 is still useful to cross-check.

I changed jobs this year. What do I do?

Nothing extra. Both employers' salary and TDS appear in your records, and TaxCare adds them together. If the second employer did not count the first salary, the extra tax shows up before you file.

Old or new regime — which should I pick?

TaxCare calculates both on your own figures and shows you the difference. The new regime gives a standard deduction of ₹75,000; the old one allows deductions like 80C and home loan interest.

When will I get my refund?

After you e-verify, the department processes your return and sends the refund to your validated bank account. TaxCare alerts you when its status changes.

Your salary is already on the portal. Let's file it.

Your first return with TaxCare gets 25% off. The fee follows your income: free up to ₹1,00,000, then from ₹49 — never more than ₹1,499.
