Feature · Shri assistant
Ask Shri about your taxes.
Shri is the assistant in the Help section. It answers general questions about income tax and TaxCare in your language. It gives guidance, not professional tax advice.
In short
Ask a tax question in English, Hinglish or Hindi and get general guidance.
What it does for you
English, Hinglish and Hindi
Write in Roman letters or Devanagari. Hinglish gets a Hinglish reply and Hindi gets Hindi.
Masked before it is sent
A PAN, Aadhaar number, mobile number or email you type is replaced with a placeholder before the question goes to the AI model.
Your chat stays on your device
TaxCare keeps no chat history on its servers. The conversation is stored on your device for 120 days and cleared when you sign out.
Quick answers to common questions
Many common questions get a ready answer that does not use up one of your questions.
Buttons to the right screen
A reply can include buttons that open the matching screen in the app. Shri cannot invent a link.
Built on the app's own tax rules
Shri draws on the same rules for each Tax Year as the calculator, so a figure it quotes matches the app.
How it works
- Open Help and askType your question in any of the three languages.
- Personal details are maskedAnything that looks like a PAN, Aadhaar, phone or email is masked first.
- Read the replyYou get the whole answer at once, with buttons to related screens where useful.
Questions people ask
Is Shri a tax professional?
No. Shri gives general guidance, and every chat shows that reminder. For advice on your own situation, book a Tax Expert.
Where do longer answers come from?
Questions that need more than a ready answer go to a third-party AI model, after masking. Questions clearly unrelated to tax and TaxCare get a polite redirect.
Is there a limit?
Yes. Each person can ask a limited number of questions in a time window to keep the service sustainable. The Help screen shows your own window.
See it in your own return
Sign in with your mobile number and try it on your own tax profile.
