Questions, answered

How many times can I revise?

As many times as you need within the window. Each revised return replaces the last one.

My return isn't e-verified yet.

Then it doesn't count as filed. E-verify it or, if it is wrong, discard it on the portal and file again — no revision needed.

Is there a fee to revise?

Not until 31-Dec-2026. After that, a revision until 31-Mar-2027 carries a fee of ₹5,000, or ₹1,000 if your total income is up to ₹5,00,000.

What if the window has closed?

If you have income to add, you can file an updated return (ITR-U) instead, with additional tax.

Fix it before the department does.

Your first return with TaxCare gets 25% off. The fee follows your income: free up to ₹1,00,000, then from ₹49 — never more than ₹1,499.
