Questions, answered

What is the ITR due date for Tax Year 2025-26?

31-Jul-2026 if you have no business income and no audit; 31-Aug-2026 if you have business or professional income without an audit; 21-Nov-2026 if your accounts need an audit.

What if I miss the due date?

You can still file a belated return until 31-Dec-2026. A late fee of ₹5,000 applies (₹1,000 if your total income is up to ₹5,00,000), plus interest on any tax still due.

Which ITR form should I file?

You don't have to choose. TaxCare works out ITR-1, 2, 3 or 4 from your records and shows you why. If none fits, a Tax Expert can file your return.

Do I need to upload documents?

Usually not. TaxCare fetches your AIS, TIS and Form 26AS or Form 168 from the Income Tax portal. Keep Form 16 and proofs of old-regime deductions handy to check against.

Can a Tax Expert file it for me instead?

Yes. You can hand your return to a verified TaxCare Tax Expert from inside the app. The price is shown before you book, and nothing is filed without your approval.

Can I file for my parents or spouse?

Yes. Add your own PAN first, then each family member's. Each return is filed separately and you manage them all from one account.
